Some dogs create phobias from noises, this can be from a car, bell, fireworks, well everything that produce a sound he may become anxious about that.
Stress reduction are a very extensive topic, each by itself could be an entire thesis of university.
In a quick resume stress reduction can be achieved by training, natural supplements or medication, this one should only be used in last cases which don't allow your dog to live comfortably during the day.
Training or natural food supplements should be used in most of the cases and recommended by a vet or specialized trainer.
My german shepherd was adopted with noise anxiety from cars, he lived on the street for a couple of months as far as we know and he created this fear from that time. This was extremely difficult to treat but I tried the most to reduce his stress and try to create good memories with car sounds, since I couldn't even go with him to the vet by car. This required a lot of time and patience but now it's all part of the past, I can now drive with him inside the car without any problems and walk on a sidewalk without him stress completely.
If your dog suffers from any kind of phobia ask for help, since this phobias can create aggressive in some cases.
