The title says it all.

If you don't feel comfortable, which is normal, you should ask for an experienced trainer.

However hand signs usually are the best method in conjunction with verbal commands but we need to stay always with the same hand gesture and voice tone!
This is very important to have good results, there's not a correct amount of time you'll need to teach a specific trick, this can vary between minutes or even hours and it's a everyday train.

When working with puppys they tend to have more energy, this means you'll need to be more stubborn than them. Most of the times tricks won't work immediately, if you let your dog without any obedience training for a couple of weeks when returning to basic obedience you may need to spend again more time.
