Jumping in a dressage saddle is about as uncomfortable as it gets. A jumping saddle lets you ride in the two-point and three-point effortlessly, and has minimal interference. It helps the horse to jump with full range of movement. It helps the rider to stay in balance with the horse so he can concentrate on the jumps ahead of him. Make sure your saddle fits perfectly as you don't want to turn your horse off of jumping. Jumping saddles are more difficult to do dressage in as they don't have a deep enough seat and enough support to keep a good dressage position. It can be done, but is more difficult so if you are learning it is definitely best to get one of each.
