Introducing a new cat to your home can be difficult sometimes, since the "owner" will disagree with the new acquisition but this can be easily fixed.
Always give a right introduction of each other, if possible let them smell each other without even seeing the other. This can be done by letting one of them inside a room with a closed door and the new cat outside that door. Stay inside the room with your cat and give him a treat every time he goes and smell the other cat under the door. This way you also are giving positive reinforcement.
After a couple of hours let them see each other, p.e. through a glass window. Give both cats treats during this procedure.
When you feel comfortable, let them with supervision in a big room with open space but also with spaces to hide and elevation.
