Let the Games Begin!

Posted Nov. 25, 2017

Play is an important part of socialization. Games teach us how to work, live and interact with others. They work the same with our pets. Dogs play mostly to learn how to hunt, hide or help the pack. Some great games for socializing include following games which teach trust and they also teach your dog to pay attention to you. Hiding or seeking games like Find the treat teach dogs how to take cues from you, approach you for good results(treats), and how to focus for more than ten seconds. They will also teach your dog how to come on command; either a silent motion or a whistle is better than yelling, as it will not be lost among other sounds or perceived as stressed by your dog.
