All dogs bark, but a bored dog's barking can become a big nuisance. Also, a dog that stays cooped up all day is more easily startled by unknown noises and sights - and a startled dog barks.
Social enrichment, or getting your dog out into the world, is a great way to introduce them to new sights and sounds, and it's also a great way to engage their minds and bodies, reducing boredom and barking!
