I've been a big fan of natural horsemanship for a number of years now, and have used NH with all horses I've worked. I really like that Parelli (among many others like Mark Rashid, Tom and Bill Dorrance, back as far as Xenophon) put it into an organized thought that every horse is different, which means that a "one size fits all" approach to horsemanship will not work. Overall, I mostly agree with what Parelli teaches.
There are a few principles that he teaches I can't say I agree with. One of these is that a horse's personality fits into one of his four categories; horses are much too complex to be put in one of four boxes. He has great suggestions about different approaches to use, depending on the personality of the horse you're working with. I'd just advise those who are using his method to be open to blending some techniques; most horses have a few character traits in one category and one in another. This means you'll need to take a little here and a little there, essentially.
