Many times, horses buck in order to avoid going forward, or from confusion over what the rider wants. If you have a strong bit in your horses mouth, when you ask him to move forward, he may be confused by mixed signals from your leg and your hand. He feels you asking him to go forward from the leg, but the strong bit suggests he should not. Sometimes, he will buck from this confusion. If you have a horse who bucks, try using a snaffle and kicking him forward until he stops bucking. Once the mixed aids are gone, he may understand what you want and stop bucking.
