IVDD is a very serious condition which requires multi-modal approach in treatment in order to be managed successfully , however amino-acids aren't part of any treatment protocol, unless your dog is not fed well and emaciated but even then, all it really needs is high quality diet. Getting essential amino acids is very important for maintaining body structure and function, but your dog will get them from diet, no need to pour supplements in there, it's much better to use the money on better quality diet for your pet.
These supplements might be somewhat useful for old dogs, since their ability to digest protein from diet is reduced, and so is the amount of amino acids they get. In this case adding amino acids that are just absorbed instead of having to be digested might prove beneficial, though there isn't much science to back this claim up, but even if ineffective this supplements are safe and probably wont cause any harm.
