Our Jack Russell has really been in the wars recently! First she got in a fight with our Australian Cattle Dog and had to have stitches in her head. Then she injured a ligament in one of her hind legs while chasing a rabbit and then, yesterday morning, she developed a swelling in her lower jaw. After contacting the vet, the diagnosis was either snake or scorpion bite under the tongue! The meloxicam is treating the inflammation, penicillin treating the infection and anti-histamines to treat the reaction. She's now sleeping quietly - hope she stays that way and doesn't get into any more trouble for a day or two!
