Complete blood count is a diagnostic test where it measures the number of cellular components such as Red Blood Cells, White Blood Cells and Platelets present in the blood. Abnormalities in the count of the cell indicates a disease/infection .

Anaplasmosis is a tickborne disease caused by the infectious bacterial organism Anaplasma phagocytophilum.

When the dog is suffering from this infection, the platelet count will decrease than the normal. This is called thrombocytopenia.
