I used alfalfa cubes when I had to pen a few sheep up for a few days, and needed a forage feed that was not a straight grain. Cubes aren't cheap, but the sheep will eat them, and they are a decent replacement for hay, if you are only feeding a few days worth. Mix a little grain, and you could probably feed to lambs, but again, not on a permanent basis.
