Choke collars have no business near puppies, to be blunt. A young dog should not have that kind of potential damage to their windpipes when they are still developing, no dog should. It is uncomfortable, it is hurtful and just ineffective. Puppies can learn how to walk on a leash without the use of a choke collar.
Choke collars have nothing useful to offer and having a dog when I was young with a choke collar I have seen how unnecessary it is. Having my own dog when I got older, a good old fashioned collar worked just fine. My dog walks right beside me and can easily be redirected with a gentle tug. There is absolutely no need, nor excuse, to choke our dogs.
