My Siamese cat has a tendency to attack your feet and legs out of pretty much nowhere. One moment we are best friends and cuddling up on the couch, the next he is tearing up my feet. I started to clip his nails to help soften the blow so to speak lol. I used baby nail clippers and just clipped right where the nail started to hook. I held him on his back and pushed out the nails with my hand. You really have to be quick about it because your cat probably won't tolerate it for long, at least mine didn't. I'd do one paw at a time usually to make sure he didn't get too angry with me. It's MUCH better than declawing and those little nail covers you put on cats would always get lost. Clipping the actual nails was easiest and most effective for me.
