Seresto is a flea collar that comes in only one size for cats (unlike the flea topical meds which you need to know the weight of your pet to know which "size" to buy in the topical meds.). The collar needs to be tight so the medicine can be transferred from it to their skin. It should be tight but loose enough to get one finger between the collar and the cat. If it is to loose the medicine will not be able to get onto the skin, thereby making the collar ineffective. The collar works for 8 months and it can be bought at your local pet store or at your vet. (Usually at the vet you can get a mail in rebate for Seresto but you can only use it for 2 collars). Seresto does not leave a smell or residue on your fingers when you touch it and is very safe to use around young children. When you get it before you put it on the cat you need to "activate it", I do it by gently stretching the collar out straight and rolling it back in forth gently. Once activated place it around the cats neck and secure it, cut the excess length off.
