Good pain relief for surgery
I prescribe an NSAID postop for all spay & neuter surgeries. Provides good pain relief, anti-inflammatory helps with any post-op swelling (elizabethan collar may be needed also). These are safe in most patients. A few patients have GI upset, needs to be discontinued. There are generic, less-expensive options on the market besides the name-brand Rimadyl.
