Discospondylitis is a painful condition, and although pain levels vary from case to case, NSAIDs are always the core of analgesic treatment, due to the fact that they also reduce inflammation, which is pretty much the main cause of both neurological symptoms and pain in cases of Discospondylitis.
Carprofen, meloxicam, firocoxib, robenacoxib are most commonly used NSAIDs in veterinary medicine, they are more effective and safer then Etodolac which is only indicated for osteoarthritis and nothing else.
It can be used, but personally, I would rather go for carprofen or meloxicam.
