Vast majority of uterine tumors are non-invasive, non-metastatic, and easily diagnosed using ultrasound, so there is really no need for advanced imaging techniques such as MRI.
Once tumor is removed it should be send to patohistology to determine the exact type, if it turns out to be one of the rare few with metastatic potential, some advanced imaging might be necessary to look for metastases.
