First of all, flaxseed oil is plant based oil, compared to fish animal oil.
Another important thing is, EPA and DHA in flaxseed oil are in the form of ALA, which is inactive precursor of these molecules. Chances are that ALA will be transformed in very small quantities. Additional possible problem is, flaxseed oil contains omega-6-fatty acids, which, combined with omega-6 in normal diet usually can give increased amounts of omega-6 acids, primarily because they are more stable then omega-3.
This should be avoided,The optimal ratios of Omega-6 to Omega-3 range between 10:1 and 5:1.
While acids in fish oils are anti inflammatory, in flaxseed oil, due to low availability are not.
