Fluoroquinolone antibiotics, such as enrofloxacin, are very effective at treating specific bacterial infections. However, they should not be a first choice antibiotic for general infections, as there are other antibiotics which would work as effectively and are less subject to antibiotic resistance.
Work together with your vet to implement responsible antibiotic use and reduce antibiotic resistance. Only give antibiotics under direct advice from your vet; always finish the course of antibiotics, and re-see your vet before the end of the course of treatment if your pet still has any symptoms.
