Antiseptic and antifungal wipes are a great option for mild cases of skin fold dermatitis. This is a skin infection that forms in the skin folds, seen commonly on bulldogs or other breeds with wrinkly faces. Skin folds are prone to infection because they are moist and hard to keep clean. These wipes contain antibiotics, anti-yeast medications, and sometimes a steroid. There are many brand names but they all work similarly.
Antibacterial/antifungal wipes are great for skin folds because they can be used daily and are quick and convenient. I find wiping the facial folds to be a lot easier than trying to apply a spray or ointment. For dogs with a lot of skin folds, the wipes work best when used on a daily basis to prevent infection for developing. They can also be used as a treatment for a mild skin fold infection, but a severe infection may require oral medications.
