I can't believe it's already been a year with little Hermes!
Last Christmas I received this adorable friend from a relative who could no longer care for him due to her living arrangement.
Hermes is quite friendly and doesn't mind being held. Grooming is a bit trickier with teddies, but a slicker brush will help to remove some of the loose hair and also help to lessen shedding. Luckily, using light strokes with my cat's brush does the trick. However, since his breed is known to have drier skin, he only requires 1-2 baths a year.
Maintaining and cleaning his cage is a bit tedious, but is one of the pitfalls of having a guinea pig.
All in all, teddy guinea pigs make great, cozy little friends. If you're looking to invest in one for your child, make sure you ready them for the extra work needed for caring for one.
