I found my guinea pig under a car in early spring. It was very cold and I knew that if I left her outside, she could be freezing there forever. Although I was trying to find her owner, nobody contacted me, so Cristina stayed with me until I had to move abroad.
She had probably a very bad experience with her previous owners and she did not trust me at first. She was hiding and she never ate when I was close to her cage. Later on she became more confident and kept crying for food a few times a day (unfortunately at night too, waking me up pretty often). Overall, I liked her a lot and we became close, even in spite of my lack of experience with exotic animals. However, I am not planning to buy a new one in the nearest future.
