Acquired: Pet store

I think hamsters are a good pet for beginners (like children), although you have to be extremely careful in case you get a sharpened teeth fellow. Hamsters are very active but they also love to spend a lot of time spleeping in their nest. Some of them don't like to be disturbed and squeezed (most of us wouldn't like that either!) and children should be supervised by an adult. They are low maintenance pets. All they want is a playground house, a warm nest and a belly full of food. Personally I prefer pets that interact more with humans, but if you don't have the time or money to have a dog or a cat, why not try a hamster? We had Eva for 2 years. I don't think she appreciated when we placed her house in a different place after almost 2 years. A couple of weeks later she died.
