Sugar gliders aren't the easiest pets to have, honestly. They are incredibly cute and sweet, but they take a fairly skilled pet-owner. First off, they are very fast and love to jump around -- it can actually take a while to learn the proper way to hold them without them getting away, especially since their fur is so slick. They also require a fairly large cage so that they can get the right amount of exercise, and fairly regular cage cleanings to keep everything sanitary and healthy. They love fruit (my two especially love apple pieces) but they also require specialized food and a vitamin mixture to keep them healthy. While they can be skittish at first, once they warm up to you they can be a very rewarding pet. My two love to perch on my shoulders and climb all over me. They are sweet and full of love but, like I said, not for beginner pet owners.
