Acquired: Worked with pet (didn’t own)

BoBo was a robo hamster in a classroom I worked for my senior year in High School. He was a few years old at the time and was really good with the children. They were never allowed to hold him without the teacher present but all the children adored him to bits and the student's parents took it upon themselves to buy food and bedding for him periodically throughout the school year.
Occasionally, when the children went out to recess and I had free time, I would pick him up and tickle his belly. He was surprisingly calm and didn't bite, or at least, didn't bite hard enough to hurt the person holding him.
Many of the children were inspired to write about BoBo in their daily journals and it was heart warming to see them cheer little BoBo on while he ran on his wheel. I wish more teachers would bring small animals into the classroom as it really seemed to push their creativity and spark an interest in animal science.
