I met Matias, the ferret, in 2004. He was about 3 months old and had been returned due to his smell. If you ever had a ferret you know what I am talking about, but also if you had one you know that after some time our nose just stops working, right? I was not acquainted with ferrets, so I bought some books and googled a lot about them. Ferrets are small (around 2 kgs maybe), so you don't need to have much space to have one, but you will need some free time, because he or she likes to play and hide and enjoys company. They are usually very active. Ferrets can be trained to do almost anything (use a litter box, walk on a leash, ...), they can easily be cleaned and their nails cut (don't let them grow too much). Most of them are very friendly to humans and other animals. I would recommend having a ferret! In case you have any doubts there are some goods books you can read to learn more about ferrets or maybe you can make some research before you take a decision. In case you are wondering, Matias passed away in 2012. He was about to complete 8 years old. He will always be one of my dearest pets.
