My therapeutic white rats

My first encounter with rats began when I wanted to treat children with hyperactivity, motoric problems and emotional difficulties throughout pets.
the rats interested me especially because they were new to me as a therapeutic animal.
At first i brought them to my house and got them settled in,
two weeks after that i started working with them, unfortunately the rats were restless, they ran away from me and the kids, they bit me and they didn't adjust to their new home at all for a very long period of time.
i kept trying - changing their habitat and improving their food, light, temperature and even let them run free on the grass.
nothing i did helped and after a year one of them got really sick and died.
short time after i gave the other rat to a small zoo, i felt like i was hurting her.
Eventually my experience with white rats did not succeed like i hoped and i gave up the idea of treating children with them (now dogs is a completely different story:).
