Tale of Two Retics

Positive: First off, these are awesome snakes. I do not have the ability of give a forever home to a full-size retic. The fact that they come in smaller packages now is great. One is the friendliest, nosiest snake that I ever had. When out for a roam, he voluntarily comes into my space to check out what I'm doing. He seems to like being petted and is fine with being picked up. The other is much more nervous so I don't handle her that much but she has never bitten and is beautiful. They are very active snakes and will look you in the eye.

Negative: Size is very variable: Both are from well known breeders. "Wisdom" is still 8 feet -more a dwarf than a SD You have to be very careful to ask the breeder questions about how big the parents are. Also they are still retics so you have to take care when feeding because they can easily bite you by mistake. I use tongs for feeding and I tap trained the 8 footer for handling sessions. Also they need 10x's the cleaning of my ball python because they drink and pee a lot.

A good snake for some one with some experience who wants a bigger active snake but not a giant python. I love mine.
