The Red Eared Slider: Loads of Personality

By

Posted Oct 24, 2017

Red eared sliders are friendly and gregarious, so far as turtles go. They can come to recognize you and your call, and will come readily for feeding. Some sliders seem to enjoy being pet on the head or neck, and don't seem to mind being handled. While they can be messy, a powerful filter and good water flow will clean out waste. Most readily eat pellets and forage on water plants, but they will happily chase minnows if provided.
