Very fragile as babies!

When I was younger and my mom took care of everything, I had 2 of these turtles at home and they lived for 3 years before my mom gave them away to my uncle, who has an entire pond of them. We got them when they were really small and they were fun and exciting and we took really good care of them.
Food for them is easy to find, in any pet store or general store where I live they had the pellets that they eat. So feeding them was never a problem.

In my experience is that when they're really small you need to clean out the water a few times a day because they're very fragile in their early months and being in dirty water makes them very vulnerable to the common eye infection which causes them to stop eating and eventually die :(
If you're gonna have this pet i suggest you clean its water and tank whenever possible or try to get an aquarium with a filter, this is an exceptionally good idea.

Also as they get bigger you will also need to provide a bigger tank or pool for them to swim around in. (Like i said, my uncle has a pond) when they're older and bigger you can worry less about the waters condition but still try to keep it clean every few days. With proper care these pets can live for years so try to keep them as healthy as possible when they're young!
