The Pygmy Short-Horned Lizard (Phrynosoma douglasii) is an ambush predator of note. They have a habit of burying themselves completely in loose sand waiting for their prey to come by and then they pounce on them. They are very still animals and do very well in medium sized desert vivarium setups. I would recommend this species to advanced keepers as they can be a bit tricky and do require a specialized setup and a tender hand to help them and check on them everyday. Mine do well on a diet of crickets but I would recommend you vary their diet as much as possible. A great lizard species to keep and an amazing predator but best suited for expert keepers.
