The Peach Throat Monitor (Varanus jobiensis) is a medium sized Monitor Lizard that can make a great option as a pet for Monitor keepers. These beautiful long bodied lizards are completely carnivorous and are ferocious appetites. This is one of the best monitors to keep in captivity and is highly suitable because of its small size. They are also one of the most intelligent species of Lizard and are extremely fast and clever when they need to be. These might be a bit too challenging for beginner keepers but they remain very hardy lizards and do well in captivity. I would recommend them to intermediate and advance keepers. I feed mine on Crickets, Mice, Silkworms, Roaches and pieces of raw chicken from time to time. This is a great species to keep and I would highly recommend them to any Monitor enthusiast.
