Leopard tortoises are charming hatchlings, beautiful and personable. Nothing is cuter nibbling on a strawberry. They grow very slowly, and are easy to provide for at first provided you can give them an outside enclosure that is warm enough or a well lit enough inside enclosure. They are always shy, but become accustomed to their people. As they grow, however, it will become less easy to provide them with large enough well lit space if you don't live in a warm climate. In general, these are the most charming lawn mowers you're going to find in warm areas, but not worth the significant trouble in colder climates. Choose a smaller, more personable species to keep indoors with you.
