Leopard Gecko's make great pets, but require a little consideration... They are a dusk/dawn animal, so early morning and evening is when they are most active!
In their enclosure there should be a heat source (connected to a thermostat for control), and their food should be dusted with calcium powder a few times per week. Doing this ensures great health! Although they come out during dark hours, they still get natural UV light, so calcium is needed to help them regulate their bodies.
I personally don't recommend these as pets for younger children, as their tails can detach! but don't worry, they do grow back eventually...
They make great pets for older children, and their smiley faces make my heart melt!
