When I was a small kid, me and my best friend had been running around, chasing common lizards that were to be found everywhere around our houses. We sometimes had fun thinking how cool it is that even if we accidentally rip their tales off, they will still grow back again! We had been admiring their beautiful skin and their strong clutches.

Eventually we would manage to capture some of them and place them in a terrarium of our own kind. We had built it out of basic materials we had. It has certainly been an improper care for the poor animal. Occasionally we would try giving them some grass to eat, even though they eat insects! Luckily for the lizards, we usually would not keep them for a longer time.

Looking back at it now, I find the whole situation to be very sad. It is almost like animal abuse, what we have done. We all should know that not every animal can be kept as a pet. There are those who need their freedom of running around, laying in the sun and just doing what their animalistic instincts tell them to – without being locked up in a box!
