The Murray Darling Carpet Python (Morelia spilota metcalfei) is a not so popular subspecies of the popular Carpet Python outside of Australia. They are also known as the Inland Carpet Python. They are stunning snakes to look and and grow to large sizes but are still not big enough to be considered hard to handle or care for. They are absolute "Darlings" in captivity and will tame done to be puppy dog tame. Their colors and patterns are truly magnificent and there are few snakes in the world that are much like Carpet Pythons. Which ever Carpet Python you choose to keep they are all amazing and stunning to look at. Just remember to keep them in large cages with lots of climbing opportunities. They will definitely take advantage of them and benefit drastically from them. A highly recommended python species that is easy to care for and doesn't require as much space as the giant species like Burmese and Reticulated Pythons.
