Can't Find Him, But I Still Love Him!

Owning a five-lined skink is much like that of other small and fast reptile species, meaning they don't really like to be handled and when given the chance, they will adventure through your home or find the easiest way outdoors.

My five-line ate almost every time it was fed, but I very rarely even saw it eat! I just had to figure it was, because the food was always missing when I would return. I kept my five-lined in an environment with plenty of space to dig and feel at home and it definitely did, so if you ever want to see your skink, pick your environment correctly!

But despite those points, caring for this lizard was pure simplicity, as a lamp kept its environment warm and feeding was usually as easy as dropping it in his tank (although I rarely saw him).

I wouldn't recommend this for younger folks, but it is indeed a pretty lizard that was in my experience, easy to maintain!
