I didn't know I was getting a lizard until she fell in my lap. (Almost literally!) I say she but I'm not sure. I figured Barb would be a good name for either since the tail is like touching barbed wire. Lol. Barb has been very easy to care for. Which is really good seeing as how I had no idea how to care for 1. I've read up on Barb's breed but they differ so much. I'll tell you what I've done. I started feeding Barb dark greens & meal worms. I read that they only eat veggies & some said they are omni. Well Barb loves both. Def omni! If Barb had her way she would eat insects only. I wouldn't do that though. Her favorites : Green beans, peas, corn, red cabbage, okra, lima beans, Romaine let, she will eat carrots but I think she got tired of them. She loves seeds. I give her the small seeds from my gerbils food. She loves crickets! Its so cute when she chases them. Super worms r the bug of choice. Barb eats them out of my hand doesn't matter if they r alive or dead. She'll even eat them cold right out of the fridge. I don't put water in the tank. She gets her water from the food & I spritz her off & on especially when she's shedding. I sprinkle her food w/calcium & multi-vit powder once or twice a month. I use calcium sand & I just added orange vita sand. I don't recommend the colored sand. I like 2 c her colors which by the way r gray/blue with some yellow spots down the sides. Kinda drab but I like it anyway. I use the Zoo Med Basking Combo Pack. I leave the red light on 24/7. She likes 2 hide when sleeping so I put in a rock thing? & a plastic green nesting box (that my gerbils just wanted 2 eat) that I put down in the sand a little. She likes to dig so I think I'll get more sand. Well I think thats about it. If u have any ?'s I'll answer them if I can. Peace, Love, & Michael Jackson!
