Endangered in the wild, Cuban Boas may reach 13 feet in length, and are suitable only for experienced keepers with lots of room.. They are more active than their mainland relatives, and, until quite large, prefer to remain above ground. large custom made cages are essential. I've worked with several that have become somewhat handle able, but most remain aggressive; in zoos,, we require 2 people to be on hand when large constrictors are fed or handle..a good home rule for this species. The cage should be located in a quiet part of the house, as they are sensitive to disturbances.
