The Crested Gecko that I now care for belongs to my daughter, who came to live with us again for a while and moved out again recently. The Crested Gecko stayed behind. He is a funny creature, very recluse - not liking any direct contact with us humans. He hides most of the day and comes out at night to eat and bask in the light. He requires a steady supply of crickets and fresh fruit puree. He definitely does not like that Gecko food you buy in the pet store. I would say that providing food for a Gecko is an important job - water needs to be changed each day and food needs to be accessible and fresh often. The downside is that you get very little emotional payback when you are putting out a fair amount of work to care for this lizard. Although this is a very interesting pet to have, I would caution any interested buyers to do their research and think about the commitment involved. This is not the kind of pet you can leave for the weekend with a bowl of food and water. :)
