Snakes are cool depending on what you want out of a pet. These guys didn't really form bonds easily or show much interest in us, but it was fun for a while when friends and family got to come over and interact with a fairly unique pet. We had two corn snakes that were beautifully colored, and watching them move around is interesting. Feeding is a bit of an ordeal, especially if they decide to be picky and don't like the little frozen mice anymore...the feeding was my least favorite part. I also think it's important to interact with them often, because otherwise if they're not used to being out of their cage and are startled, they could try to strike. I don't think they'd do much damage, but a moody snake is a pretty scary ordeal even if it's small.

I didn't find much emotional support or affection in my corn snakes, but I'm sure those with a better appreciation of reptiles might!
