I only had them for 1 year so I don’t know how long they lived. But I can tell you that they are very calm animals that are not very exciting to look at. They make you relax for sure. Their easy going attitude is refreshing. I would feed mine this special turtle food that they really liked. It was this small stuff that looked like fiber.

Their maintenance is pretty simple as long as they have fresh water, don’t let it get too murky and they should also have space to be outside water too. You can’t have a turtle without the option for both water and dry soil. They enjoy both of them just as much.

They are very easy to handle and they never acted aggressive with me. I would pet their heads and they seemed to like it. They also got along very well with each other, no problems or fights over food, as long as they all had plenty of it, they would stay out of each others way.

This is a great pet for kids, but make sure they clean their water tanks and feed them every day. The true problem with small children is how careless they are about those things.
