Common Collared Lizard - Crotaphytus collaris

The Common Collared Lizard comes from Colorado, Utah and New Mexico, and east to Arkansas and Texas. They do very well in captivity and if bought from captive-bred stock do a lot better than those from ranched or wild-caught stock. I have found them to be easy to keep as long as you provide them with the proper dietary requirements and keep them in a clean large vivarium. They prefer high temperatures, up to 105–110 °F (41–43 °C). Highly recommended for intermediate to advanced keepers.
