Berber-My Carpet Python

I have owned several different kinds of snakes and this one was the most difficult. Berber was older when I acquired him. I did not know a lot about snakes when I got him. He was an adult and was 8 feet long. I bought him from a reptile fair in my state. He seemed to handle well at the show, but became listless when I got him home. He fed fine in the beginning, but I soon discovered he had mouth rot. I had to take him to the vet to get antibiotic shots to combat his mouth rot. It was definitely a learning experience in what to look for in the health of a snake. He was aggressive sometimes, but since I didn't know if this was because he was in pain or his past living environment, I find him a new place to live. I tend to want to get reptiles from a young age to insure that I know exactly what care goes into them.
