My all time favourite snake

So I know I was raving about northern pine snakes, but my very favourite snakes are Brazilian Rainbow Boas. They're the first snake I ever owned, and many years later, I have another one.

They are tropical, so require high humidity to stay healthy. Again, I have a mist system which makes things much easier (put it on a timer, have a large water reservoir and you're all set). Also, they are nocturnal, so if you are more of a daytime person, you will never see your snake.

The thing that makes these guys so popular is their colouring. Not the orange and black pattern (which alone is pretty nice), but the rainbow coloured sheen they get, especially after a shed. It's very unusual and beautiful.

I've never had trouble with one eating, they take frozen rats as long as their environment is right. They do need a hide, preferably more than one, to sleep in during the day.

I've found mine goes crazy for my dreadlocks. He will freak out and try to bury himself in my hair, it's strange. He calms down quickly, but every time I take him out and he sees my locs, he does it again.

Mostly they're pretty calm and easy to tame, just takes patience, like most snakes.
