I’ve lived with a bearded dragon for about a year and half now. His name is Gandalf, and he is a surprisingly wonderful pet! Gandalf loves to be held and played with outside of his cage. When I’m home, I just let him walk around the house, while keeping a close eye on him so that he doesn’t make a mess on my carpets. Bearded dragons are somewhat of a companion pet so they need some kind of daily interaction. He likes to climb up the couch, and if I’m using my computer, he will sit patiently on my shoulder while I’m working. My only complaint about Gandalf is his heat lamp. Be sure to keep your bearded dragon cage in a separate room from you so that the bright light doesn’t keep you up when you want to go to bed early.
