Owning a bearded dragon

I had owned leopard geckos previously to getting a bearded dragon, It was pretty costly to get the vivarium and accessories to make sure that he had a nice habitat to live in and wouldn't get bored.
He lived in a 4 foot vivarium with sand, branches and logs to hide under.
I didn't know reptiles had so much character, he loved coming out of his vivarium and would be more than happy to sit on your knee whilst you watched TV, he would lie on your shoulder for hours.
Whilst he wasn't the most cuddly pet it was still super cute!
Compared to other pets, it was relatively time consuming looking after him to buy his live food, feed the live food to give to him, change his sand once a week, change the water and fresh food in his bowl daily, remember to turn his light on and off every day but it was definitely worth it.
I had him for around 9 years, until he sadly passed away, I would definitely recommend a bearded dragon for someone who is wanting to own a reptile for the first time, compared to other lizards they are relatively small, active, and playful.
