 to jump around in. Need out of cage time too. Many people set up small tents and get in the tents with them to play at night. Neuter males if you do not have their lineage. Do not take a chance on inbreeding them. I suggest buying from a reputable breeder - can be found on Glidercentral.com as well. Stay away from fairs and pet stores. Many are born in mills and taken from their parents too soon and sold too young and often sick. So do your research. If you are very sensitive to smell - they do have a little odor - more if they males are not neutered. Cute, lovable little ones, but much more responsibility then say a hamster. ){kind=link}

Luckily, a very good friend of mine from the rescue group had gotten him somewhat socialized before we got him. He was small but packed with attitude and even though he lived with a Blue & Gold and Scarlet Macaw, he thought he was "big bird" in the house. The Blue and Gold was very protective of me and once tried to come see me outside, by going towards a window she could see me out of. Unfortunately, Rocky's cage was between her and the window. She tried to go through his cage and he was not having that. She was much stronger than him and bit his face and broke his beak pretty badly. It cost me over $4,000 to get him straighten out. I was lucky I found a brilliant vet that saved him. Eventually I was not able to spend as much time with my birds and gave them to wonderful new homes. I miss them dearly!!! Moral of this story...always watch your birds when they are out of their cages and emergencies can be very costly, so have a pet savings account. He was a beautiful boy and liked to show off for you. He's in a home now where he is the "big bird" and is thriving. He never talk much, but did do his far share of screaming ){kind=link}
