I'm Dani Ramsey, owner of Ramsey Ringnecks in Hephzibah Ga.
I like to sing, swim and hang out with friends in my spare time.
But most of my time is spent in my aviary, taking care of and playing with the many resident doves.
We breed Wild, Tangerine, Rosy, Blond, Orange, Dark and Blond Ivory, Wild Pied, Tangerine Pied, Pink, and White.
There are silky available on occasion, but not frequently.
Apricot and Cream projects are getting underway, but it may be a while before I have any available.
I believe that a pet is only as good as it's temperament.
Pets are our companions. We want and need to bond with them.
It doesn't matter how pretty it is, how healthy it is, or how long it lives; If an animal fears or hates its owner, it is not a pet. It is a captive.
My passion has always been for ideal beginner pets. Everyone has to start somewhere, and my criteria are that the pet be harmless, inexpensive, and easy to care for.
By harmless, I mean physically incapable of causing physical damage to the handler. Unfortunately, I have not found any mammals that meet this need, and it is the primary reason that I have not resumed working with rats.
Inexpensive is not just referring to a creature's purchase price. Caging, bedding, feed and upkeep must also be inexpensive.
Easy to care for should speak for itself. Feed it, water it, clean it's cage regularly. As hardy as possible.
Ringneck Doves, Crested Geckos, and Madagascar Hissing Roaches thus far top the list.
